How we use this

What we do with it. We look up public data for this spot: official alerts (National Weather Service and FEMA), flood maps (FEMA), wildfire hazard (US Forest Service), earthquakes and elevation (USGS), storm history (NOAA) and dams (US Army Corps of Engineers), and current weather from WeatherAPI.com. Only the map point goes to those services, and WeatherAPI.com gets it rounded to within a few miles. Address suggestions and the preview map come from Google Maps, so Google sees what you type here and the map point.

Nothing is saved until you activate. The address stays in this browser. If you start a plan, you confirm it before it is saved, and you can change or delete it any time.

Privacy tip. Checking for someone else, or rather not share your own address yet? A neighbor's address or a nearby corner gives almost the same picture, because alerts, weather and county history cover the whole area. Flood zone and wildfire hazard belong to the exact spot.
