How-to

# Read your partner dashboard

What each card on the partner dashboard means: your standing, the three money figures, the referral funnel, and the by-campaign table.

## The idea

The dashboard answers two questions at a glance: where does my money stand, and is my promotion working? The top card covers the first, the funnel and campaign table cover the second.

## The standing card

The large card at the top shows one of three states:

- **Advance recoupment.** If you received an advance, earnings apply against it before cash payments begin. The bar shows how much of the advance has been recouped, and when there is enough earning history, an estimated month when cash payments start.
- **Payable now.** Once any advance is fully recouped (or if you never had one), this shows the amount currently owed to you. It is paid through your monthly statements, within 30 days of month end.
- **Balance.** In the rare case a refund reverses more than your current balance, the card shows a negative amount. Nothing is owed by you directly: your next earnings clear it before cash payments resume.

## The three figures

- **Earned this month.** Your share accrued in the current calendar month so far.
- **Lifetime earned.** Everything you have earned since joining.
- **Payable now.** What is currently payable in cash. While an advance is outstanding, this stays at zero and the hint reads "Held against your advance."

## The referral funnel

Four numbers, each feeding the next. Clicks and signups count all time; the last two are as of today:

1. **Clicks.** Every recorded visit through your tracked link.
2. **Signups.** Accounts created and credited to you, with the click-to-signup rate.
3. **On a free trial.** Referrals whose free trial is running right now. A trial is not a payment, so it never counts as paying.
4. **Paying members.** Referrals on a paid monthly or annual plan today, with the signup-to-paying rate. A member who cancels leaves this count; what you earned from them stays in your statements.

A healthy funnel narrows at each step. If clicks are high but signups are low, look at where you place the link. If trials are high but few become paying members, the audience may need more context before they arrive; your arrival page is the place to add it.

## The by-campaign table

Add a campaign tag to any link, for example `/partner/your-name?c=ep214`, and the dashboard breaks out clicks, signups, free trials and paying members per tag. Tags may contain letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.

Use one tag per placement: an episode number, a newsletter issue, a talk. The table then tells you which placements actually convert, not just which ones get clicks. The Promote page has a builder that assembles tagged links for you.
